The University of Notre Dame’s School of Medicine alumni community is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Jasmine Lamb, whose compassion, dedication, and mentorship left a lasting impact on all who knew her. While caring for a friend’s relative on Lord Howe Island, Jasmine went for a morning swim and is believed to have experienced a sudden medical episode. Despite the immediate and courageous efforts of bystanders to resuscitate her, she could not be revived.
Jasmine will be remembered with profound respect and gratitude, particularly by the graduating class of 2009. As Year Coordinator, she was far more than an organizer—she was a steady, empathetic presence who guided students through one of the most demanding and formative periods of their lives. With quiet dedication, she celebrated achievements, provided support, and fostered a strong sense of community that endured well beyond graduation.
Beyond her professional role, Jasmine’s life reflected her passions and commitment to others. She was deeply involved in surf life saving, classical music, choir, and mentoring female students in STEM. In every pursuit, Jasmine demonstrated the same dedication and warmth she brought to her work—generously giving her time, uplifting others, and building inclusive communities wherever she went. Her kindness, mentorship, and enthusiasm touched countless lives and created a lasting legacy far beyond her immediate circle.
On behalf of the Notre Dame School of Medicine alumni, we extend our deepest condolences to Jasmine’s family, friends, and all whose lives she enriched. Her presence, guidance, and unwavering spirit will be profoundly missed, and her impact will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Rest in peace, Jasmine. Your warmth, dedication, and light will never be forgotten.
