It is with profound sadness that Worthing Rugby Club announces the passing of Richard Pothecary, affectionately known as “Potho.” Richard was a cherished member of the club, known for his dedication, sportsmanship, and unwavering passion for rugby throughout his youth and senior playing years.
Beyond his achievements on the field, Richard was admired for his warmth, kindness, and sense of camaraderie. He was not only a teammate and friend to many but also a devoted husband and loving father. His commitment to his family was evident to all who knew him, and his love for life, his children, and his wife shone brightly in every aspect of his life.
Richard’s presence at Worthing Rugby Club went far beyond his athletic contributions. He embodied the spirit of the club, inspiring younger players and fostering a sense of unity, respect, and friendship among all who crossed paths with him. His leadership, both on and off the pitch, left a lasting impact that will be remembered fondly by teammates, coaches, and supporters alike.
