We regret to announce the passing of Jon Dee Graham, who died this morning. He was widely respected for his contributions to music and remembered by many for his kindness, generosity, and distinctive sense of humor. His work and influence reached far beyond his immediate circle and will continue to be appreciated by those who knew him and those who experienced his art.
At the time of his passing, our family was present and awaiting emergency responders. In the midst of that difficult moment, we observed a number of cardinals gathering nearby—something Jon Dee had always taken special interest in—as well as new growth appearing on a tree he had recently been tending. While we remain in shock, these small details have brought a measure of quiet reflection.
We are deeply saddened by this loss and are taking time to grieve privately. We respectfully request space during this period and ask that there be no in-person visits for now. Messages of condolence are appreciated, though we are not able to respond to phone calls at this time.
Information regarding memorial arrangements or a formal tribute will be shared when available. We thank all who have expressed care and support, and who have valued Jon Dee Graham’s life and work.
